Human Values over Skills?

Most people who get recommended for jobs or promotions or bigger better roles have excellent relationships with their superiors, co-workers as well as subordinates. They get recommended not just for their work but also for their integrity, communications and more importantly for the way they 'treat 'others

When it comes to choosing or recommendation- someone who is average in work but is fantastic as a human being has more chances of getting a recommendation than someone who is exceptional at work but sucks as a person.
Skills can be developed..can be taught
But integrity and human values are deep rooted

Hence do not cheat, do not lie..
Even if you are called Old school - manners and values still hold higher brownie points than cheating and bluffing

So what are you doing today?
Appreciate your team member
Build up your subordinate
Recommend someone
Mentor a young aspirant

Eventually organisations are made of human beings and these basic human skills give a bigger better picture and help you climb the corporate ladder.

Moving beyond your limits

An old man sat on a park bench with his faithful dog by his side. The dog, who was obviously in pain whined constantly
Finally curiosity got the better of a passer-by. "Why is your dog whining?" he asked the old man. "Because he's sitting on a nail" came the reply. "Then why doesn't he move?" asked the stranger.

 The old man looked up in disbelief: "Isn't it obvious?" he asked, "It doesn't hurt him enough to make him move!"

It would be a rather silly little story if it weren't for the fact that most of us live our lives like that dog - Whining constantly about our jobs and our lives, but never taking any action to change our situation - Because it simply doesn't hurt enough!

You can't just sit there and wait for people to give you that golden dream; you've got to get out there and make it happen for yourself.Get excited and enthusiastic about you own dream. This excitement is like a forest fire - you can smell it, taste it, and see it from a mile away.
So if you have a dream..go an extra mile for it..go and grab it..just do it

Inspiration or Jealousy?

When you see someone successful do you get inspired or get jealous? Do you think "wow I too want the be that "or do you think "why only he/she has that?"
Jealousy emerges from the lack mentality where as inspiration from abundance mentality. Jealousy says if you have it ,nothing will be left for me. Inspiration says, if you have it I can have it too. Jealousy starts from fear..Inspiration from love
Jealousy destroys you.. Inspiration builds you up. Jealousy is your Ego's quality while Inspiration is the quality of your true self
Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, JRD Tata, Jack Welsch...what was common to them? They got inspired and built an Empire and now continue to inspire us
